Privacy Policy for Hike This

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Psalms Paper Co. ("we," "us") makes Hike This, a hiking trail app for Android. In short: your hikes stay on your phone, we show no ads, and we never sell your information.

Information the app uses

• Your location (GPS) — only while you are using the app, to show your position on the map, record your hikes, and warn you about turns or when you leave the trail. Location data is stored on your own device (for example in saved GPX tracks). We do not receive or store your location on our servers.
• Emergency contacts — phone numbers you enter for the SOS feature. They are stored only on your device and are used only if you press the SOS button, which opens your messaging app so you can send your coordinates. We never see or store these numbers.
• Downloaded map packs — stored on your device so maps work offline. We do not track which areas you download.
• Subscription status — whether your $1/month Hike This membership is active. Billing is handled by Google Play; we do not see or store your card number. Google's own privacy policy governs payment data.

What we do NOT do

• We show no ads — to anyone, free or paid.
• We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
• We do not require an account. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile about you on our servers.

Safety note

The SOS feature sends your coordinates through your own messaging app to contacts you chose. It depends on your phone having cell signal, and it is not a substitute for calling emergency services. Always tell someone your hiking plan before you go.

Children

Hike This is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Location and contact data entered in the app stays on the device it was entered on.

Your choices

• Turn off location permission in your phone's settings at any time. The app needs it for maps and recording, but nothing is sent to us either way.
• Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device, including recorded hikes, map packs, and emergency contacts.
• Contact us at the address below with any privacy question.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
